Original Vintage Japanese Glass Fishing Float

These beautiful floats were sourced from the Northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, where glass floats have been used in the fishing industry since early in the twentieth century.

Hand blown glass was used for its buoyancy, with hand tied ropes used for protection and rigging.

These floats were often re-roped numerous times throughout their lives, as they were constantly recycled.

These floats have varying hues of blue & green, looking amazing hung for light to refract through.
