Japanese Fishing Float - 16" Pale Green

Original Vintage Japanese Glass Fishing Float

This beautiful float was sourced from the Northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, where glass floats have been used in the fishing industry since early in the twentieth century.

Hand blown glass was used for its buoyancy, with hand tied ropes used for protection and rigging.

These floats were often re-roped numerous times throughout their lives, as they were constantly recycled.

This float has a beautiful pale green colour, looking amazing hung for light to refract through.
